This thrift shop jumpsuit is giving me life right now. Oh yes! I did say thrift shop. I feel like I can finally relate to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’s song Thrift Shop. I did a thrift haul earlier this year. Upon deciding to start my blog I went through my stuff to see what looks I can put together for you guys. There it was, hanging in all its gracefulness lol. I can remember trying it on in the store and just loving the color against my skin tone, right then and there I decided I had to take it home. No ifs, no buts, no maybes plus, the lady had the nerve to ask me if I was a model. In my head I was like “Mmm.. so this jumpsuit makes me look like a model huh? now I definitely cannot leave it” that’s all the validation I needed to get it really but, there are pros and cons to everything and jumpsuits are no exceptions. So let’s get into it.
PROS
I love love love a jumpsuit, its a whole outfit already. So no wondering what top to wear with it or what bottom, whether to tuck it in on leave it hanging. It’s a jumpsuit, indecisiveness is not apart of its games. Though I did have to figure out that bet to wear it with it, and that still wasn’t as difficult. I like to think jumpsuits are made for me. I’m tall and skinny and jumpsuits seem to like that about me lol. They are usually flattering on my figure and this one has all these high slits and breathtaking flowy movements which gave me that feminine touch. Regardless of what body type I’m yet to meet a jumpsuit that’s not elegant. It’s almost impossible to go wrong with a jumpsuit and they fit every occasion. When I think jumpsuit think timeless, elegance and sophistication.
CONS
I have got just one problem though, jumpsuits can be a real pain. Jumpsuits can be your worst nightmare when I come time to visit the restroom. especially if you are in a social setting let me tell you, it can be a struggle to get them babies off. There is no pulling them up or separating at the waist, it’s all the way from the top. Usually its boobs out sleeves off (if they have sleeves that is) or like this on the unknotting of strings. With that being said I suggest that you do not wait until you absolutely have to go before you visit the restroom because you might be in trouble. Better yet make sure you use the restroom before you leave home or just straight up don’t use the restroom when wearing a jumpsuit if it a difficult on to take off.
I went ahead and rock this olive green jumpsuit with a skinny mint green belt and a pair of olive green chunky heels I picked up from Charlotte russe. For accessories, I kept it simple. I love a big hoop earing so just a pair of gold hoops, my watch on one wrist and a handcrafted coconut shell bracelet on the other. I blended right in with nature, my skin is the shade of the trees and the jumpsuit represent my leaves. No, I didn’t plan that effect it just happened.
Thank you guys for reading. leave a comment, let’s talk jumpsuits. See you next post.
