Okay, guys, it’s finally starting to feel like fall here and that means, time to bring in and try out the fall fashion trends. Power red is where it’s at. Honestly, I never really got red. I can sift through my closet and there will be nothing red in it. I know!! Are you real Daisha? Have you not heard all these songs and stories about the lady in red? Lol yes, trust me, I have. For as long as I’ve known my mom (which is only like 20 something years) red has been her favorite color. She did not play when it came to rocking it from head to toe. I mean she literally putting a splash of it in her outfits every chance she got. She always had something red on so, no asking what the predominant color in her wardrobe is.
Growing up some kind of reference was always made to the lady in the red dress. I mean, it looks gorgeous on most women. But what is it about the red outfit that has everyone going crazy? Because of this, I’ve concluded that red must have some effect on the psyche why it has affected people the ways it has over the years. So I went digging and found that on some psychological level colors are said to affect people’s perceptions, actions, and moods. The effect varies among people depending on demography. The science of color psychology is saying that red appears to be nearer than it actually is so it demands our attention. It also gets the pulse rate climbing causing us to react a certain way. I guess this is a start in breaking down why with heterosexual men, red outfits come off as enhancing the female attractiveness.
(While typing this I still and trying to remember me owning or wearing anything red but, still blank so I guess I really haven’t. Well in the wake of the power red fall fashion trend I have decided to try it out. Oh and I didn’t just throw in a splash of red in my outfit, I went all out baby, mixing shades and all as if it were my usual playground. Wearing a full suit of red for the first time I must say I, absolutely loved it and I mean every second of it. I now understand why they called it power red. I felt super confident and fierce.
Before putting the look together I was not so confident stepping into new waters so, I decided to mix the shades. I didn’t want to go too bright for it to be overwhelming or too dark then the look would become too dull. So I mixed it and boy was that a good decision. I went for these burgundy leggings (Oh there is a debate as to whether or not burgundy is a shade of red or purple. But, if I have it on in this picture then, it sure is a shade of red in my books), with a bright red sleeveless chiffon loose fitting top tucked in. I went ahead and added my black and red kimono over it especially since the days are really starting to feel a little bit chillier regardless of the sunshine.
I wore my glass chunky heel, peep toe, black bootie just because you cannot go wrong with black. Then to complete the look I added my new favorite suede black hat that fit with everything so. Guys I literally wear every chance I get. I went light on the accessories. I rocked some black and gold bracelets on both wrists, black frilled earrings, and a few gold mid rings.
It’s safe to say that you will defiantly be seeing me in more red. Maybe I’ll become like my mom and incorporate a splash of red in everything I wear. Let me know what your power red trendy outfit is going to be this season. If you decide to give it a try tag me or send me your pics.
Wait! I do own something red. It’s a red and black long sleeve shirt. I wear it as a sweater sometimes. It has been a while though. I guess I’ll be seeing it more often now too. Thank you guys for stopping by see you next post.
